Summary
2024年，オーストリアは記録的なウエストナイルウイルス感染伝播を経験し，37例のヒトの感染例が確認され，散発的発生から endemic transmission に移行した。northern Burgenland への地域的拡大に加え，同時に Usutu virus cases 27例の増加があった。

・年齢の中央値は 62 years (range: 18–88), with 19 male and 18 female cases; 34 of the 37 cases がオーストリア国内での感染例だった。
・これまでも散発例が報告されていた国内東部 Northern Burgenland で2024年，急激な増加 a dramatic increase in incidence from an average of 0.6 per 100 000 in previous years to 6.6 per 100 000 in 2024 が認められた。

・USUV incidence in northern Burgenland rose from an average of 1.0 per 100 000 to 4.2 per 100 000 in 2024, making the region a new hotspot for both viruses.
・All 25 WNV sequences from locally acquired cases はすべて lineage 2 に属し，14 of 15 Usutu virus sequences は the Europe-2 clade and one to the Africa-3 clade に属していた。

Gandhinagar District in Gujarat, India において2026年1月初旬に腸チフス感染が疑われる症例の限局的な増加が報告された。複数個所でのパイプラインからの漏出により公共上水道の汚染が関係していた。2026年1月6日現在，144例の疑い例が報告されているが，腸チフスによる死亡の公式の報告はなく，すべての入院患者の状態は安定している。

・Pindarda village, Gandhinagar District, in Gujarat, India のウシを飼育する26歳男性が，クリミア・コンゴ出血熱 Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) 検査で1月9日に陽性となり, the first case reported in Gujarat in 2026 となった。
・高熱などの症状を発症し数日後に KD Hospital, a private hospital in Ahmedabad で4日間の入院治療を受けた。
・the National Institute of Virology in Pune での検査確定を受け，サーベイランス door-to-door surveys in Pindarda village and surrounding areas, covering 237 households and placing 1034 people under medical surveillance が開始された。
・Pindarda village is located 17 km northeast of Gandhinagar city, upstream along the Sabarmati River, in a rural agricultural setting where livestock farming is common.
