・この10年間に、オーストラリア国内で診断された梅毒 Syphilis と淋菌感染症 gonorrhea diagnoses の症例数は2倍となり、とりわけ異性間性交渉での感染が増加しており、複数の性産業労働女性が含まれ、感染の多くがシドニー Sydney で確認されている。

Queensland woman survives meningitis coma in Japan
Queensland の活気のある24歳女性が最近死の瀬戸際を経験した。日本滞在中の最後の夜の2月5日、東京で悪寒戦慄があり、瞬く間に生命の危険が迫る状態となり、昏睡状態となった。
起きた時に寒気があり、まもなく激しい戦りつと嘔吐が始まった。パートナーによりトイレ内で倒れているところを発見され、身体中に発疹がみられる敗血性ショックの症状が認められた。
東京の国際医療研究センター Tokyo's National Center for Global Health and Medicine において、髄膜炎菌 [meningococcus serogroup] B 感染症により、髄膜炎と敗血症性ショックを発症したと診断された。3日間 a medically induced coma が導入された...
下肢に細菌感染による壊死性病変があり、歩行困難な状態が続いている。
髄膜炎菌ワクチンは接種していたが、血清型Bワクチンは接種していなかった。オーストラリアでは、2003年から血清型C、2017年からは A, C, W, and Y strains をカバーするワクチンが無料で提供されているが、the particularly dangerous type B strain, using the Bexsero vaccine が提供されるようになったのは2024年3月になってからのことである。
