Summary
コンゴ民主共和国・ウガンダのエボラウイルス病・アウトブレイク a Bundibugyo virus disease outbreak について WHO が5月16日、PHEIC を宣言した。
5月23日現在、コンゴ民主共和国から906例 suspected cases and 223例 deaths across the provinces of Ituri, North Kivu, and South Kivu が報告されている。
ウガンダは7例を報告している。

・ 5月25日のコンゴ民主共和国保健当局 The DRC Ministry of Health SitRep では 906 suspected cases, 223 suspected deaths が報告され、確定診断例 Confirmed cases は合計105例 (94 in Ituri, 10 in North Kivu, 1 in South Kivu) with 10 confirmed deaths (15歳以上 8例, 15才未満 2例) である。
・ the suspected cases の大部分が Bunia (249) Mongbwalu (339) and Rwampara (228) の症例。
・ メディアは 1011 suspected cases and 233 suspected deaths at the end of the day on 25 May 2026 と報じている。
・ ウガンダで25日、Kampala の私立病院の医療従事者2名の新たな確定診断例 New confirmed Ebola cases が報告され、ウガンダ保健省はすべての症例は DRC のアウトブレイクとの関連性があるとしている。国内で確認された症例は7例 confirmed cases となった。

Epidemiological analysis and public health impact
・ アウトブレイクは Ituri, North Kivu, and South Kivu に及んでおり、コンゴ民主共和国史上最大となった2018-2020 アウトブレイクを想起させる。
・ confirmed cases に比べて多数の suspected cases が存在するのは、診断の遅れ this diagnostic bottleneck を反映している。
・ 直接遺体に触れ、洗う、伝統的な埋葬方法はアウトブレイクを増長し、（一方）2018-2020の DRC のアウトブレイクにおいて、安全な埋葬 safe and dignified burial (SDB) interventions が感染伝播を抑制し、感染者数の減少につながった可能性がある。

・ Tenerife 島でクルーズ船から搬送された 14人のスペイン人が、5月10日にマドリードの病院 Gomez Ulla Central Defense Hospital in Madrid に隔離され、5月25日までにこのうち2名の感染が確認 confirmed ANDV cases されている: the first は到着の翌日確認され、軽症であったが回復しており、 the second が 25 May 2026 (無症状、 routine polymerase chain reaction [PCR] screening）確認された; 両患者とも the High-Level Isolation Unit (UATAN) に移送された。
・ 残りの接触者ら検疫 quarantine at Gomez Ulla Hospital 中で from 10 May 2026 から21日間、その後自宅隔離を続け、合計42日間毎日体温監視などを続ける。

・ the ANDV case in Tristan da Cunha について The Lancet with case follow-up provided in local news outlets が報告された。the MV Hondius でガイドを務めていた島民 A resident of Tristan da Cunha は4月28日にアンデスウイルス感染症の症状を発症した。4月14日に下船してから14日後のことであった。確定例3例と同じ階（デッキ）上に居室があり、（ガイドの）発症時期は、ケース2および3の発症時期に合致する。
・ （いずれの大陸からも1000マイル以上離れた）絶海の孤島で、診断能力、空港はなく、来船も不定期であるため、診断は確定されていない。小規模の医療チームがケアしている。
・ 英国保健当局 The UK Health Security Agency and UK Government はこの孤島に対して支援を実施した virtual medical support and deployed six paratroopers, two military clinicians, and 3 tonnes of supplies from the 16 Air Assault Brigade in an unprecedented emergency airdrop to the remote island。the Falkland Islands から5月22日に海軍 HMS Medway (a Royal Navy vessel) に到着した。患者は現在自宅に戻れるほど回復した。
Epidemiological analysis
・ マドリードで検疫中の人々の中から、無症状の症例が PCR スクリーニング検査によって確認されたのは、発症前 pre-symptomatic detection もしくは真の無症候性感染例 true asymptomatic infection のいずれかである。
Future outlook
・ 今後も among the MV Hondius high-risk contact cohort からの感染例の確認が予想される；潜伏期間が1-6週間とされ、5月10日が起点となっており、2026年6月中旬まで新たな感染例が確認される可能性がある。
・ スペインでの新たな感染例の確認による、公衆衛生上のリスクの変更はない。

2011年以降、中国から1000例以上のヒトの様々な鳥インフルエンザウイルスによる感染例 human infections with multiple avian influenza A subtypes (notably H5N1, H5N6, H7N9, and H9N2) が報告されており、多くが感染した家きんもしくは生きたトリを売る市場に関係している。H9N2 などの低病原性鳥インフルエンザは現在、中国の家きんに常在し、高病原性鳥インフルエンザウイルスとともに感染循環し、人獣共通感染による溢出やパンデミックのおそれのある変異の機会が続いている。

・ The first case は四川省 Sichuan Province の女児で、25 Apr 2026 に発症し、生きた家きんを売る市場 a live poultry market を訪れていた。発熱のみで治療は要さなかった。
・ The second case は雲南省 Yunnan Province の男児で、28 Apr 2026 に発症し、庭先飼育の家きん backyard poultry との接触があった。4月29日に肺炎のため入院したが、その後退院している。
○ マラリア アンティグア・バーブーダ

・ 2026年5月下旬、Antigua and Barbuda において2例の輸入感染例 imported malaria cases が確認された。いずれもマラリア常在地行きからの成人の旅行者であった。
・ 1例は約5日後に回復したが、2例めは病院 the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre で死亡した。いずれも入国時または入国後すぐに発症した。
・ 昆虫学的サーベイランスでハマダラカ Anopheles mosquitoes locally が確認されているが、地域内感染の報告は限られている。

Sundargarh, Odisha, India 州における葬儀の食事による食中毒クラスターにより、4人が死亡、22人が入院
Key findings
・ Nuadihi village, Hemgiri block, Sundargarh district, Odisha において5月22日、葬儀後の食事のあと、食中毒とみられるクラスター A suspected foodborne illness cluster が発生した； from 23 May 2026 onward およそ 54人 individuals from Nuadihi village and neighboring Sunakhaen village (Jharsuguda district), with 47 cases concentrated in Nuadihi alone.
・ 22-28人が入院となり、40-60歳の4人の死亡が確認されている。
・ 嘔吐、腹痛、下痢、重度の衰弱の症状があり、重症例は Sundargarh District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) に、少なくとも1人は Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Science and Research (VIMSAR), Burla に転院した。
・ 原因はわかっていない。

・ マレーシアの公園 Taman Eko Rimba Ulu Bendul (Ulu Bendul Forest Eco Park) in Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia に関係する、11例のレプトスピラ症 confirmed leptospirosis case が確認されており、全員が水浴 bathing at the site on 10 May 2026 を行っていた。
・ 11例のうち7例が5月18日に保健当局 the Kuala Pilah District Health Office (PKD) に報告され、an initial cluster of four cases に続く a second wave of confirmations となった。最新の症例の発症日は5月15日である。死亡例は報告されていない。
