Summary

2026年5月16日、WHO が a public health emergency of international concern (PHEIC) 宣言

5月27日時点で、コンゴ民主共和国で1000例以上の感染 suspected cases と 230例以上の死亡 suspected deaths across the provinces of Ituri, North Kivu, and South Kivu が報告。

ウガンダでは、死亡した1例を含む7例。

・コンゴ民主共和国保健省 the Ministry of Health in DRC の報告では、2026年5月26日時点で合計 121例の確定診断例 confirmed cases (including 17 deaths) と 1077例 suspected cases (including 238 suspected deaths) across Ituri, North Kivu, and South Kivu provinces as of が確認されている。

・少なくとも 13地域 health zones in DRC で感染が確認され、もっとも深刻な状況にある地域 the most affected health zones は Bunia, Mongbwalu, and Rwampara in Ituri である。

・ウガンダの合計感染者数は7例 confirmed cases and one death のまま変更はなく、すべて the DRC outbreak と関連しており、5例は発端となった2例の輸入感染例に関連している。

Other updates

・ カナダ政府は5月28日から90日間、the DRC、ウガンダ、南スーダン国民 residents の入国を禁止し、移民に関する書類の発行を停止している。無症状のカナダ国民などに対しては、5月30日以降、21日間の検疫が課せられる。この措置により、via Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver 経由で毎週約350人の入国者が約40％減少すると推定している。バハマでも同様の措置が行われる (Reuters, 27 May 2026).

・カナダと米国の措置は WHO temporary recommendations and IHR guidance に反している。The UN aviation agency (ICAO) もこれに従うよう求めている。

Contact tracing

・ the DRC Ministry of Health は 3600人の接触者 contacts identified across affected areas as of 26 May 2026, up from earlier figures を報告している。

・医療施設の襲撃 Mongbwalu General Referral Hospital across the 23–25 May 2026 attack により25例の感染者 suspected patients が逃亡し、1例は laboratory-confirmed case であった。

Epidemiological analysis

・ The WHO の最新のリスク評価 bupdated Rapid Risk Assessment (WHO, 22 May 2026) は、国レベル very high nationally, 地域レベル high regionally, 世界レベル low globally のまま維持されている。

・数週間 undetected circulation があり、後向き調査 retrospective investigation covering 15 April–13 May 2026 では、公式確認の前に246例 suspected cases and 65例 deaths (case fatality rate (CFR) 26.4%) across Mongbwalu, Rwampara, and Bunia があったことが確認された。1家族内で15例の死亡クラスターがあり、初発例は2026年4月24日に Bunia で死亡した看護師とみられている。

・この中で、致死率 a CFR of 24.2% among suspected cases and 6.3% among confirmed cases as of 21 May 2026 とされている；確定例の分母が小さく、死亡例の確定の再分類が行われているためで、確定例と疑似感染例の差が大きいのは診断能力が追いついていないことを表している。

・ GeneXpert platforms available in DRC and Uganda do not detect Bundibugyo virus, and validation and decentralization of a suitable assay are ongoing (WHO, 22 May 2026).

Clinical, IPC, and testing updates

・ schooling in the Shari–Rwampara axis of Ituri に対する直接の影響について、The Education Cluster が報告している : 5校で少なくとも9人の生徒が死亡し、12人の保護者も死亡しているほか、少なくとも1名の生徒が発症後も登校していたことで学校内での伝播リスクが上昇した。

・曝露は 15 339 children (52% girls) and 433 teachers across 39 exposed schools に及んでいる。

・ A specialized treatment site is operating at the university clinics of Bukavu (South Kivu), and ETCs are under construction at Bunia General Hospital and Virunga General Hospital.

○　蝿蛆症、新世界ウジバエ　ホンジュラス

新世界ウジバエ蝿蛆症による3例目の死亡、国内の患者176例に

Key findings

・ As of 27 May 2026、ホンジュラス国内で 176例の蝿蛆症 confirmed cumulative cases of boreworm myiasis (Cochliomyia hominivorax) in humans と感染による死者3名が報告されている。

・この最新の死亡患者は the Olancho department の85歳女性で、病院 Hospital Escuela in Tegucigalpa で死亡した; これ以前の2例の死亡例も the Central District の高齢者だった。

・最も患者数が多い7地域 departments: Francisco Morazan, Yoro, El Paraiso, Olancho, Santa Barbara, Comayagua, and Gracias a Dios ではサーベイランスと啓蒙活動が継続して行われている。

・ As of 27 May 2026、317例の麻疹感染 measles cases since March 2026 が確認されていると保健省 Bulgaria's Ministry of Health から発表された。昨年同時期の確認はわずか1例。

・最新報告 the latest weekly epidemiological bulletin では、1週間 during week 21 of 2026 に41例 measles cases; five possible, four probable, and 32 confirmed が報告された。

・北西部 northwestern Bulgaria に集中と5月2日に報じられており、The city of Vratsa が 150 of the 225 cases reported through 04 May 2026 を占め、次いで Pleven (48 cases) and Lovech (18 cases) の順となっている。

・首都ソフィア Sofia-city, Varna, Montana, and Sofia-region でも between 1-4 cases が確認されている。

・患者の大部分が小児で、189 of 225 (84%) が20歳未満, うち 20例が1歳未満の乳児 infants under one year, 61 children aged 1-4, and 62 children aged 5-9.である。
