7月23日の公式の数字によると、コンゴ民主共和国東部のエボラ出血熱による死者が1000人を超え、アウトブレイクの勢いが収まる兆しが見えない。5月15日の流行宣言後、戦闘で引き裂かれたアフリカ中央部のこの国で、2536例の感染と1033例の死亡が保健当局者により確認されている。
the World Health Organization (WHO) によると、during Congo's 2018-2019 outbreak では感染が2000例を超えるまで10か月かかったが、今回の流行ではわずか2か月間だった。
