オランダで、献血者1名のウエストナイルウイルス感染 West Nile virus infection が、2026年8月に、過去にヒト、ウマ、鳥類、蚊族でウイルスが確認されたことのある地域の献血者に関する調査 a Sanquin study を通じて確認された。検査 (PCR) でウイルスが確認されたこの献血者は、(献血時も現在も）何ら症状を認めていない。the province of Utrecht の住民で、最近の渡航歴はなく、オランダ国内で感染したとみられている。
