・ ノルウェー疥癬アウトブレイク An outbreak of crusted scabies (often referred to as Norwegian scabies、最も感染力が強い the most contagious variant) が、病院 Conxo Provincial Hospital in Santiago, Galicia; an autonomous region in Northwestern Spain で発生した。
・ 感染に気づかれずに患者1名が入院したあと、医療従事者20名に典型的な症状が現れ、4月26日時点で5例が確定診断されている。
・ Conxo Hospital 病院の発端となった症例は、他の疾患により内科病棟に入院した患者で、2-6週間の潜伏期間のため症状がなかったことにより、スタッフ、高齢者、免疫不全の患者らに感染が拡がった。
・ プロトコールに従い、確定例は治療開始後24時間は隔離、シーツ類や環境面の消毒強化、予防投薬、スタッフの教育などの対応が開始された。
