An adult passenger who disembarked the cruise ship in Tenerife and developed symptoms on repatriation plane back to France. She was placed in isolation and PCR is pending.

Case 4: 成人女性，4月28日に発症し5月2日に死亡。確定診断。.
Case 5: 成人男性，船医。発症し確定診断。5月6日にオランダに医療搬送。
Case 6: 成人男性，a ship guide。軽度の呼吸器および消化器症状を訴え確定診断。オランダへ医療搬送。
Case 7: 成人男性，セントヘレナ島で下船し，同27-28日に南アおよびカタール経由でスイスに帰国し，PCR検査で確定診断。
Case 8: 成人男性，Tristan da Cunha 島で下船。その後下痢、発熱。自己隔離中（a probable case）。
One case previously reported as suspected has now been reclassified as a non-case after testing negative for Andes virus by PCR and serology.
Nevertheless, monitoring continues until the end of the incubation period from the last exposure.

Pathogen characteristics in this outbreak
・ Virological への新たな投稿において、遺伝子解析 genomic sequencing の結果は、単一の感染源 によるアウトブレイク a single-source outbreak に続いてヒト－ヒト感染 human-to-human による拡大があったことが示唆されている。
・ 南ア、スイス、オランダ、セネガルの4か国の研究者らが、クルーズ船の患者 confirmed MV Hondius cases からのウイルスを解析した結果、それらは nearly genetically identical — genomic segments show over 98.6% similarity to historical Argentine Andes virus strains from 1997 and 2018 であった。
・ もっとも可能性が高いシナリオは、1ないし少数の乗船客が同じ動物の感染源に曝露し、アルゼンチンまたはチリでの旅行中にウイルスに感染したあと、4月1日にクルーズ船に乗船し、船内の閉鎖環境の中で他者に感染を拡げたというものである。
・ 解析されたのは、患者が診断および治療を受けた国々、including South Africa (cases 2 and 3), Switzerland (case 7), and the Netherlands (case 5 and 6) で採取された検体である。4月11日に船上で死亡した発端となった患者 Case1 からの検体は採取されていない。
・ Across all cases sequenced の間で検出された相違点はわずか only two minor genetic differences で、いずれも "silent" mutations であることから、ウイルス・タンパクの変化を生じることはなく、機能への影響も有していない。
Epidemiological analysis and public health impact
・ 原因ウイルスはアンデスウイルス Andes virus (ANDV)、ハンタウイルスの中で唯一ヒト－ヒト感染が報告されており、呼吸器感染防護衣の着用と接触者全員の42日間 - the known incubation window の上限- の隔離が正当化される。
・ 下船後の機内で発症したフランス人の乗船客について懸念されるが、長期の潜伏期間を考えると、乗船者の中でさらなる症例が発生する可能性がある。

2例の新たなハンタウイルス感染疑い例 new suspected cases of hantavirus が5月8日、one in Spain and the other on the remote South Atlantic island of Tristan da Cunha で報告された。3人の死亡例が発生したクラスターの場所から何千マイルも離れた場所での（疑い例発生の）発表に、 the World Health Organization はくり返し、多くの市民のリスクは low で容易に感染伝播は起こらないと述べているものの、不安感は増している。

- Between Nov 2024 and Jan 2025 の期間に、市販の生ミルク、生の鶏肉、生のペットフードを摂取した19匹の飼いネコ domestic cats across five households in Los Angeles County, California に重い症状が見られた。
- 9匹が鳥インフルエンザ検査 positive for influenza A(H5N1) clade 2.3.4.4b genotype B3.13 で陽性となり、14匹が死亡または安楽死処分となった。
- これら19匹のネコに、合計139人が曝露 ? 11 household contacts（自宅内）, 126 veterinary staff across ten practices（獣医学スタッフ）, and two others ? し、曝露から10日間臨床症状がモニターされた; 30 (22%) がインフルエンザ様症状 influenza-like illness を訴えたが、検査で陽性 a positive influenza A(H5) RT-PCR result となったものはなかった。
- Apr 2025 に血清学的調査a serosurvey among all 139 exposed persons を行った; 25 (18%) の参加者のうち、無症状であった獣医学スタッフ1名の曝露120日後の検体で、血清抗体陽性 seropositive (microneutralisation titre ?40 and haemagglutination inhibition titre ?40) against both clade 2.3.4.4b B3.13 and D1.1 viruses と確認された。

・ A norovirus outbreak was reported to the CDC Vessel Sanitation Program (VSP) on 07 May 2026 aboard the Caribbean Princess (voyage B612), a Princess Cruises vessel on a 13-day itinerary from Port Everglades, Florida, departing 28 Apr 2026 and due to arrive at Port Canaveral on 11 May 2026.
