・ As of 20 May 2026、WHO から 51例 laboratory-confirmed cases of Bundibugyo virus disease (BVD) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) が報告された。
・ Ituri and North Kivu provinces で発生があり、Bunia, Butembo and Goma でも確定例 confirmed cases が確定されている。
・ 南スーダンの West Equatoria State において5月18日に報告された感染疑い例について、確定診断検査が行われていると報じられている。 South Yambio County の患者で、初期検査で陽性となっている。
・ ウガンダ政府当局は、Kampala における死亡した1例を含む、2例の輸入確定診断例を報告している。

・ 25歳の男性が5月8日、咳、発熱、消化器症状などのインフルエンザ様症状のため郡の病院 Arad County Emergency Clinical Hospital に入院し、ハンタウイルスの検査が陽性 positive for hantavirusとなった。
・ この患者は今回の入院の2日前に、2023年から入院していた精神科クリニック a psychiatric clinic in Bihor County から退院したところだった。
・ the State Sanitary Inspection がこの精神科の施設を調査したところ、いくつもの不適合 multiple non-conformities があり、害虫対策の書類の不備、食品取り扱いか所の不衛生、過密入院 overcapacity (319 patients against 314 functional beds) を指摘された。
