Abstract
アメーバ性髄膜脳炎 Amebic meningoencephalitis (AME) は致死率の高い中枢神経系感染症で、種々のアメーバ various free-living amebae が原因となる。今回、2025年1月1日から11日11日までの間のケララ州の症例 AME cases from Kerala, India の疫学について、a matched case–control study を用いて確定診断例 real-time PCR-confirmed Acanthamoeba spp. infection の 行動上のリスク因子を明らかにする。
159例 AME case-patients, of which 67 (42.1%) tested positive for Acanthamoeba spp. amebae の大部分が 4 districtsに集中しており、 peaking during the monsoon and postmonsoon periods であった。塩素による殺菌が行われていない家庭用の水の水浴等 swimming or bathing を介する自然水への暴露t exposure to natural water bodies が、AME に関係していた。
顔面の創傷 maxillofacial injury もしくは鼻の手術歴がある自然界の水への暴露例と、自然界の水による潰瘍または皮膚病変の洗浄が、高い有病率 higher odds of disease に関係していた。

The state reported 73 locally acquired dengue cases across Florida this year through Aug. 29 [2026], including 59 in Hillsborough County, five in Pinellas County and one in Pasco County. Miami-Dade County has seven cases and Palm Beach County has one.
Hillsborough dengue hotspot
In Hillsborough County, all 59 cases were identified as DENV-2,
one of the distinct types of dengue virus which spreads to humans through infected mosquito bites. There was also one unknown case reported in Hillsborough County. All five Pinellas County cases and the one Pasco County case were identified as DENV-2 in the report's county table.
