West Nile virus: one death in Lazio, total cases rise to 46
ラツィオ州 The Lazio Region で新たに 2例のウエストナイルウイルス感染 new cases of West Nile virus が、ウイルス学研究所 the Virology Laboratory of the Lazzaro Spallanzani National Institute for Infectious Diseases (IRCCS) の検査で確認され、1例は neurological syndrome もう1例は West Nile virus fever の患者であった。
7月29日には、7月初めから the Santa Maria Goretti Hospital in Latina に入院中であった86歳の死亡も記録されている。神経侵襲性のウエストナイルウイルス感染に加え、重度の持病により症状が進行した。
今回確認された症例を含め、2025年の感染例は累計 46例となり、うち42例が the province of Latina, including the patient who died last week at the San Giovanni di Dio Hospital in Fondi; 2 cases were recorded in the municipalities of Anzio and Nettuno in the province of Rome; 1 case was recorded in Sora, in the province of Frosinone; and 1 case was recorded outside the region, with probable exposure, in the province of Caserta となっている。
46例の内訳は、15例が一般病棟に入院し治療中、5例が退院、20例が自宅療養、3例が集中治療室入院で、3例が死亡した。

Culex pipiens mosquitoes primarily use medium-, small-, and very small-sized canals (irrigation channels, roadside drainage ditches) as larval breeding grounds. To improve the effectiveness of vector control efforts, it is recommended that municipal authorities be alerted to survey and georeference these bodies of water, instructing contractors to perform periodic larvicidal treatments on those containing water, even in small quantities. To protect residents of residential areas, it is recommended that these treatments be carried out in an area that includes the residential area itself and an additional 2 km [1.2 mi] area surrounding the homes furthest from the residential area.
ラツィオ州 the Lazio Region, particularly those at the Latina, Roma 6, and Frosinone local health authorities の全ての医師は、侵襲性神経ウエストナイルウイルス感染 invasive neurological cases of West Nile virus に最大限の注意を払う必要がある。
脳炎、髄液検査で異常が認められない髄膜炎 meningitis with clear cerebrospinal fluid（ギランバレー症候群のような）多発性根神経炎 polyradiculoneuritis (Guillain-Barré-like) や急性弛緩性麻痺の鑑別診断としてウエストナイルウイルス感染症を検討すること。
蚊族により伝播され、ヒト－ヒト感染はない。従って蚊族の刺咬を避けることがすべての人々にとっての予防策となる。
