Current situation
Since the beginning of the 2026 transmission season, and as at 21 August、
欧州圏内12カ国の 99地域におけるウエストナイル感染例 areas affected by West Nile virus (WNV) in 12 countries across Europe が確認されている。
発生地域数の内訳はイタリア Italy (46), ギリシャ Greece (17), ルーマニア Romania (14), フランス France (eight), 北マケドニア North Macedonia (three), セルビア Serbia (three), スペイン Spain (three), アルバニア Albania (one), オーストリア Austria (one), ドイツ Germany (one), コソボ Kosovo* (one) and オランダ the Netherlands (one)である。
今週 21 areas において、今シーズン初の感染報告があった。
12カ国から 625例のヒトの地域内感染例 locally acquired2 human cases of WNV infection が報告されている: Italy (311 cases), Greece (157, of which seven with unknown place of infection), Spain (63 cases), North Macedonia (37 cases), Romania (28 cases), France (17 cases), Serbia (six cases), the Netherlands (two cases), Albania (one case), Austria (one case), Germany (one case) and Kosovo* (one case)

髄膜炎菌感染症 Meningococcal disease は急速に悪化し、12－24時間以内に死に至る可能性がある。幼・小児、青少年、特定の脆弱なグループでよりリスクが高まる。
生来健康であった小児が、わずか2日間の高熱、嘔吐、頭痛、項部硬直で、髄膜炎菌 meningococcal type B 感染症と診断され、Ho Chi Minh City の別の小児は急速に悪化し命を落とした。
脳脊髄液吸引検査で白血球数が 8,000 leukocytes/mm³ であり、その他の生化学的指標から重症髄膜炎であることが示された。髄液 PCR 検査と血液培養検査では both positive for Neisseria meningitidis（髄膜炎菌）陽性と確認され、the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City に送付された検体で meningococcal infection type B. と確定診断された。10日間の治療により完治した。
Ho Chi Minh City では4月中旬に the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control (HCDC) から、髄膜炎菌性髄膜炎の症例 a case of meningococcal meningitis in Hoa Hung ward について、パスツール研究所 the Pasteur Institute of Ho Chi Minh City に報告があった。症例は2歳超 over 2 years old で、脳脊髄液培養で髄膜炎菌 Neisseria meningitidis, serotype B 陽性が確認された。集中治療が施されたが死亡した。

CDC adds 211 new cases to accelerating US measles outbreak

米国内で急増する麻疹アウトブレイク The rapidly rising US measles outbreak による感染例数が本日 2,777例 に達した。 保健当局 the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) の新たな週報 its weekly update で 211 new infections が明らかにされたが、前週の101例から2倍以上に増加している。
Most of this week’s cases are in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
2025年の1年間の総数は 2,289例で、これは1か月前に更新されるまで the most since 1991 の記録だった。
今年の症例 the 2026 cases のうち、16例を除くすべてが国内での感染例で、45 states plus New York City and Washington, DC において確認されている。
19％が5歳未満、66％が kids and teens であり、7％が入院となっているが2025年は11％だった。94% がワクチン未接種もしくは接種歴不明 unvaccinated or have an unknown vaccine status の患者である。
麻疹による死亡は報告されていない No measles deaths have been reported this year。
昨年は、小児2名を含む3名が麻疹により死亡した。

As of EpiWeek 27、シガテラ魚類食中毒 ciguatera fish poisoning (CFP) activity in Vanuatu は警戒閾値以 below the alert threshold since EpiWeek 24 のままであるが、新たに2例 new cases reported from Efate in EpiWeek 27 の報告があり、累計214 cases since the start of the year, with no deaths and no current hospitalisations (five cases hospitalised and discharged to date) となっている。
男性が 60% of cases で、もっとも報告が多い年齢層は individuals aged 15–34 years remained the most affected group (51%), followed by adults aged 35 years and over (34%) である。
10か所の島々 across ten islands から報告されている中で、Efate accounting for the largest proportion (46%) を占めている。
分類されない雑種 the consumption of unspecified “other” fish species (103 cases) と珊瑚礁の魚類 reef fish (96 cases) が関係している。
全体として ciguatera activity の減少傾向 a declining trend が続いている。
